Lenore H. Duncan

Lenore H. Duncan died on July 14, 2011, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.

She was of the Catholic faith. She was born on Feb. 18, 1923, in Mineola, N.Y., daughter of George J. Kennedy and Helen Hansen Kennedy.

Lenore is survived by her four children, William A. Duncan and his wife Linda, Anne Masland and her husband Robert, Joan Adams and Ruth O'Brien and her husband Robert; and her grandchildren, Robert Paul Masland IV, Colleen Kennedy O'Brien, Gillian Elizabeth Masland and Kelly Ryan Duncan.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Darcy Margaret O'Brien.

Lenore graduated from Port Jefferson High School, Port Jefferson, N.Y., where she was the valedictorian of her class. She graduated with honors from Cornell University in 1944.

She worked for the Girl Scouts and the American Red Cross and then devoted her life to raising her children. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and caring for her grandchildren. She also volunteered for community organizations, including the Bosler Free Library, the United Way, the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society and the Heart Fund.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
