Lee A. Clouse

Lee A. Clouse, 80, of Newville, passed peacefully Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
He was born on January 16, 1935 in Carlisle to the late John H. and Beulah M. Leigh Clouse and was the widower of Patricia A. Clouse who died February 12, 2015. Lee and Patricia had been married for 56 years.
Lee was a graduate of Big Springs School District, Class of 1952 and he received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Shippensburg State Teachers College and then his Master's Degree in School Administration from the Western Maryland College. He retired from the Big Spring School District as an Elementary School Principal where he had been for 43 years and also 1 year at Sporting Hill Elementary School when it was a one room schoolhouse. He was a peace time veteran of the U.S. Army and also served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a former dairy farmer with the "Clouse Brothers Dairy Farm" in Newville, PA. Lee was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Church, Newville where he served in many of the church's positions. He also was a member of the PA Department of State Educators. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, especially his pumpkin patch where he would produce as many as 350 pumpkins a season.
He is survived by a son, Jeff L. (and wife Kelly) Clouse of Newville; a daughter, Cynthia A. "Cindy" (and husband Barry) Garman of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Justin L. (and wife Amanda) Clouse and Janelle R. Clouse; five great-grandchildren, Kody, Nate, Kierston, Zoey and Hannah; four brothers, J. Edward Clouse of Carlisle, Jay Clouse of Shippensburg, Charles Clouse of Newville and Samuel Clouse of Newville; four sisters, Joanne Ross of Fairfax County, VA, Virginia Deardorff of Shippensburg, Linda Goyt of Newville and Wanda Clouse of Newville; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 Brick Church Road, Newville with Rev. Dona L. Cummings officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle and also at the church on Tuesday from 11:30a.m. until the time of the services.
