Lawrence H. "Tiny" Garner, age 57, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
He was born on May 1, 1958 in Carlisle to the late Lawrence L. and Edith M. Rhoads Garner.
Lawrence was an avid fan of dirt track racing and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of the Huntsdale Fire Co. #50; a life member of Citizen Fire Co. #36 of Mt. Holly Springs; Walnut Bottom Fire Co. #49; South Middleton Fire Co. #35; Union Fire Company of Carlisle #41; Carlisle Fire Police Association; Fire Police for Company #39 in North Middletown Township; and he worked Security for Williams Grove Speedway. Lawrence also worked for the Carlisle Sentinel and the Harrisburg Patriot newspaper companies.
He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Shelly L. Garner of Mechanicsburg; two step-daughters, Amanda J. Hamilton and Sherry L. Brunner and her fiancé Jesse Jones; a brother, Walter L. (and wife Patricia) Garner of Camp Hill; a sister, Doris J. (and husband Larry) Anderson of Mt. Holly Springs; a niece, Ashley N. Garner of West Virginia; a great-niece, Bella M. Garner; three step-nieces, Amy, Cecilee and Amber; and two step-nephews, Gregory and Christopher.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Del Keeney officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:30 until the time of the service.
