Larry K. Lutz

Larry K. Lutz, 76, of Mechanicsburg passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Bethany Village.

Born on December 26, 1942 in Marysville, PA, he was the son of the late Evans Lutz, Sr. and Erma (Witmer) Lutz. He was the widower of Deborah (Carter) Lutz.

Larry held a Bachelor of Art Degree at Eastern New Mexico University, Portales, New Mexico and a Master of Divinity at United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. He served as pastors for several United Methodist Churches throughout his career and honorably served in the U.S. Army. Larry enjoyed running and photography.

Larry is survived by his brothers, Evans Lutz, Jr. (wife Cora) of Boise, ID, Leslie Lutz (wife Elenora) of Allenwood, PA; and sisters, Joyce Clelan (husband Richard), and Sondra Spickler (husband Donald, Sr.) both of Carlisle, PA. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Arthur Lutz.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Richard D. Rife Center, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg with Pastor Timothy Funk and Chaplain Brand Eaton co-officiating. A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Care Assurance Fund at Bethany Village.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the Maplewood and Oaks staff at Bethany Village for the wonderful care provided to Larry.
