L. Clyde Hare

June 9, 1916 — August 24, 2012

L. Clyde Hare, 96 a resident of Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community, Carlisle, and formerly a lifelong resident of Boiling Springs, died Friday August 24, 2012.
Born June 9, 1916 in Mechanicsburg, the son of the late Loy F. and Rhoda M. Zimmerman Hare and the widower of Evelyn V. Minnich Hare.
Clyde retired from the former C. H. Masland and Sons after 48 years of service as a mixing supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his classic red truck. Clydes hobby was woodworking; he built four grandfather clocks, furniture and cabinets for friends.
Surviving are a grandson, Brian E. Mentzer and his wife Barbara, Belle Vernon; two nieces, Susan Anvick and her husband Greg, Hoopeston, IL and Carolyn Brymesser and her husband Stephen, Boiling Springs; a nephew, Glenn J. Minnich, Carlisle; a Son-in-law, Galen B. Mentzer and his wife Pat, Fayetteville; and a Brother-in-law, Richard Mader, Hoopestown, IL. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Ann Mentzer, one sister, one brother and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday August 31, 2012 in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with the Rev. Sterlen S. Sheaffer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
