Kenyon Mccoy

Kenyon McCoy, 95, of Carlisle, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at his home.
Born August 26, 1916 in Kellogg, ID, he was a son of the late Thompson and Frances Williams McCoy.
He was a graduate of Slippery Rock University and Westinghouse Technical School. He was a technical writer for Westinghouse Nuclear where he wrote technical manuals. He also worked three years with Sylvania as a technical writer and worked most of his professional life with Westinghouse. Kenyon was an active member of Grove Avenue Methodist Church in Johnstown. He was very active in the Cambria City Mission of Johnstown and also several professional organizations through Westinghouse. Kenyon was a US Army veteran. He was two weeks shy of his 69th wedding anniversary. He was a member of Friends meeting of Carlisle for the last ten years.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Ruth Cook McCoy of Carlisle; four children, Marilyn Snodgrass (and husband, Robert) of Indiana, PA, Emily Miller (and husband, Jonathan) of Carlisle, Ann Depner (and husband, Jack) of Pittsburgh, and Wayne McCoy of Carlisle; one brother, Robert McCoy of Denville, NJ; eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Priscilla Stoughton.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Friends Meeting, 252 A Street, Carlisle. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
