Kenneth Vincett, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on June 27th, 2024. Kenneth was born on July 9th, 1930 in Edgewood, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Roberta (Adams) Vincett, his sister, Norma Bostedo, and his brothers, William Vincett and Thomas Vincett. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Vincett- Fourlas, his two sons, Scott Vincett and Jeffrey Vincett, his sister-in-law, Nancy Vincett, his grandchildren, George Fourlas, Aletha Rodriguez, Kenneth Fourlas, Thomas Fourlas, Jessica Erickson Margeson, Joseph Vincett, Michael Vincett, and his 4 great grandchildren.
Kenneth attended Edgewood High School. After he graduated he continued his education at the Ohio State College of Optometry, where he earned his doctorate in optometry. Kenneth moved to Carlisle after college and opened his own practice. Kenneth is an army veteran, having served for two years. Kenneth was involved in making his community a better place through activism. He marched with Martin Luther King Junior as well as protested against the war in Vietnam. His hobbies included, skiing, running, walking, and traveling. He specifically enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Africa, Asia, and Costa Rica. Kenneth was an active member of the Men's group at UUCV.
A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. on Friday, July 19th, 2024, at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, Pa 17013.
