Kenneth S. Morrell

Kenneth S. Morrell, 89, of Carlisle, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his home surrounding by his loving family.
Born July 23, 1922 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Thomas, Sr. and Anna M. Eggleton Morrell.
He graduated from Frankford High School, Philadelphia before working as a lab technician for Gulf Oil Company with 33 years of service. Kenneth was a member and on the Board of Deacons of The First Presbyterian Church of Carlisle. He was a member of Elks BPO Lodge 578, Carlisle, American Legion Post 101, Carlisle and a 50 year pin member of the Brown Masonic Lodge of Philadelphia. Ken was a volunteer for Carlisle Hospital, Project S.H.A.R.E, Samaritan Fellowship, and Meals on Wheels and was also a board member with the Senior Housing Board. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Evelyn E. Davidson Morrell of Carlisle; one son, Kenneth William Morrell (and wife, Susy) of Louisville, KY; one daughter, Lynne A. Ticherich (and husband, Thomas) of Greensburg, PA; one brother, William Albert Morrell of Norristown; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas L. Morrell and one sister Katherine Wallace.
Memorial services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family with Rev. Jon A. Black officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville with full military honors.
