Kathryn M. 'Kate' Loy, 90 of Carlisle, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the Pinnacle West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg with her family at her side.
She was born in Monroe Twp., April 23, 1924 to the late Stewart and Sadie Homer Ege and was the widow of Oscar W. Loy whom she was married to for 45 years.
Kate retired from the Sadie's Dress Shop, Carlisle. She was a member of the First Church of Brethren, Carlisle, member of the Bible Study group, Sonbeam Sunday School class, Women's Fellowship Group. She was a former Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent of the Junior Department. She was a 1942 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, where she was also a cheerleader.
Surviving is her son, Leonard K. Loy and wife Georgenne, Carlisle, three granddaughters, Stacy Failor and Michelle Pennell, Florida and Devon Corneles, Nevada, two step-grandchildren, Clint Patterson, Florida and Stephanie Gilbert, Carlisle, eight great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by four brothers, Bill, Homer, John and Stewart Ege and a sister, Irene Shearer.
Celebration of life services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday January 10, 2015 in the First Church of the Brethren, 1340 Forge Road, Carlisle. Officiating will be Pastors Jim and Marla Abe. Private interment will be in the Bakers Cemetery, Monroe Twp.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory, Carlisle is handling the arrangements.
