Kathryn E. Mixell

Kathryn E. Mixell, 79, of Carlisle died surrounded by her loving family, Friday, June 28, 2013 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born June 11, 1934 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel Burgett Hoy and widow of Melvin D. Mixell.
She retired from Kinney Shoe Factory in 1996 with over forty years of service. She was a member of the ABWA (American Business Women's Association) for forty-one years with thirty-nine years of perfect attendance. She also served as president for the ABWA many times and was in charge of the ways and means. She was a member of St. Mathias Lutheran Church of Carlisle Springs. Kathryn was a very enthusiastic NASCAR Fan and Jeff Gordon was her favorite driver. Kathryn's life revolved around her family, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Ronald M. Mixell (and wife, Judy) of Carlisle, seven grandchildren, Chris Orth (and wife, Kate) of Carlisle, Patrick Williams (and wife, Janelle) of Newville, Nicholas Orth (and wife, Karen) of Carlisle, Jeremy Mixell, Scott Mixell, Ryan Mixell, Cory Osborne all of Carlisle; and nine great-grandchildren, Gabi, Haden, Dru, Tasha, Colby, Jomar Cooper, Hudson, and Isabel. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara A. Osborne and one sister, Anna Stum.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Sarah A. Heintzelman officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the funeral home.
