Joyce A. Paulus

Joyce A. Paulus, 83, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Country Meadows.

She was born February 20, 1940, in Carlisle to the late Charles and Mabel (Lutz) Howard.

Joyce was a 1958 graduate of Carlisle Area High School. She was employed by Troy Laundry from 1958 until 1965 and then worked the next 30 years at C H Masland and Son until her retirement in 1996. Joyce was a member of Elks Lodge #578 and the Tree of Life Church where she faithfully attended until her health would no longer allow it. She enjoyed knitting and loved animals, especially her cats.

Joyce is survived by her loving sister, Gloria (husband James) Dove of Dillsburg; four stepchildren, Steve Paulus, Jeffrey Paulus, Angela Adkins, and Casandra Paulus; five nieces and nephews, Janice Adams, Barb Pugh, Wesley Slagle, Tammy Blalock, and Jennifer Renard; and many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Baitsell; her second husband, George Paulus; four siblings, Pauline Shenk, Betty Slagle, Jean Hockenberry, and George Howard; and one nephew, Larry Shenk.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation LTD, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Churchtown. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joyce to Tree of Life Church, 50 K Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
