Joyce E. Kretzing, 72, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, May 31, 2012 at her home.
Born December 16, 1939 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Dorothy Comp Gehr and the widow of Jacob E. Kretzing, Sr.
She graduated third in her class from the Perry Joint High School and she attended the Carlisle Business College. She retired from the Naval Supply Depot after 51 years of service, where she received many awards that she was proud of. She also retired from Sheetz after 16 years of service. Joyce was a former member of First United Church of Christ, Carlisle. She enjoyed gardening around her home and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Christine Keehn (and husband, William) of Tracy City, TN and their children, Jessica and Ashton, and also Joyce’s first great-granddaughter, Scarlet, Michelle Arnold of Mechanicsburg, Jacob Kretzing (and wife, Casey) of Oley and their children Jacob, Jackson and Jonah and Elizabeth Moore (and husband, Douglas) of New Cumberland and their children, Damian and Dominic; four brothers, James Gehr of Carlisle, Lyle Gehr of Shermans Dale, Jake Gehr of Carlisle and Wayne Gehr of Carlisle; one sister, Dorothy Andersen of Florida. She was preceded in death by her sister, Maggie Sohn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Bradley Moore officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
