Joyce E. Durham

Joyce E. Durham, age 69, of Shermans Dale, passed away Thursday, June 08, 2017 at the Life Care Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
She was born April 13, 1948 in Carlisle to the late Elmer W. and Mae (Barrick) Zeigler and was the widow of Robert E. Durham, Sr. who passed October 6, 2012. They had been married for 44 years.
Joyce had worked at Reeves Hoffman Crystal Plant and the former Silver Spring Speedway at the refreshment stand where she was known as the “french fry lady”. She was an avid bingo player and she loved going to country and blue grass concerts. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens.
She is survived by: a son, Robert E. Jr. (wife Laurie) Durham of Carlisle; a daughter, Tammy S. (husband Mark) Kitner of Dillsburg; a brother, Wesley Zeigler of Shermans Dale; a sister, Roxanne (husband David) Knight of Shermans Dale; three grandchildren, Ashley Kitner, Stephanie Kitner and PFC John (wife Emily) Kitner; and four great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Justus Kirkland, Renee Kitner and Juliet Eshelman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Waggoner’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
