Josephine Delores Anderson

Josephine Delores Anderson, age 85, of Boiling Springs, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
She was born on October 15, 1929 in Hanover, PA to the late David William Hess, Sr. and Marianna Sell Hess and was the widow of the late Robert Clayton Anderson who passed away in October 18, 1998.
Josephine graduated from Taneytown, MD High School and the Baltimore Business College studying Senior Secretarial courses. She was a homemaker who loved raising her children and taking care of the family. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the senior church choir for over 55 years. Singing in the church choir for all those years gave Josephine so much fulfillment and joy in her life. She looked forward to Wednesday evening rehearsals, Sunday services and holiday cantatas. She and her husband were custodians of the church for over 13 years. She was a past member of the Golden Age Club and was a member of AARP.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Marlene Gutshall of Carlisle and Robert Clayton (and wife Kathy) Anderson, II of New Bloomfield; one brother, Donald Elmer Hess, Sr. of Hanover, PA; one sister, Elizabeth Jean Lorah of Williamsport, PA; three granddaughters; three grandsons; six great-grandsons; and five great-granddaughters. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, David William Hess, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Road, Carlisle with Rev. Daniel L. Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown. There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the church on Monday.
