Joseph William Teetie, age 72, of Carlisle, formerly of Moscow, PA went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center, Carlisle after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was born on September 24, 1943 in Scranton, PA to the late Edward and Evelyn Loftus Teetie.
Joseph graduated from Archibald High School where he played varsity basketball. He had served in the United States Naval Reserves. He retired from the US Postal Service having worked in the Morris Plains, NJ and Scranton, PA areas and was a member of the US Postal Union. He loved Notre Dame football, New York Giants football and loved playing basketball. Joseph was a member of the Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janice R. Moran Teetie; two daughters, Jennifer (and husband Chad) Guise of Carlisle and Melissa Teetie of Philadelphia; a son, Jason (and wife Genevieve) Teetie of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Violet and Veronica Guise and Alexander Teetie; a sister, Judy (and husband Danny) McDonnell of Appalachian, NY; a brother-in-law, Dean (and wife Kathy) Moran of Cortland, NY; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Teetie.
Joe's family would like to thank the Claremont staff for their wonderful care.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church, 14 Westminster Drive, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Matt Purdy officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the church on Thursday. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
