Joseph J. Yenchick, 88, of Carlisle died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community, Carlisle.
Born February 8, 1926 in Mahonoy City, he was a son of the late John and Mary Andrews Yenchick and the widower of Margaret (Peggy) Deitrich Yenchick.
He retired from AMP, Inc. with thirty-five years of service. He was a WWII Naval veteran; a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church; and occasionally attended Mt. Holly Springs Church of God. His pride and joy was his family. He loved traveling and enjoyed taking his family to beaches from New Jersey to Florida.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Marie Klems-Wonders (and husband, Dean) of York Springs and Mary Jean Daniels (and husband, Edward) of Trinity, FL; one grandson, Todd M. Stamm of Sugarland, TX and one great-grandson, Harrison Stamm of Sugarland, TX. He was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle with Rev. Brian Wayne as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
