Joseph "Joe" Heider

Joseph E. Heider, of Carlisle, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 30 at the age of 51. Born April 16, 1973 in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Pauline (Ford) Heider. He was the loving husband of Shirley (Holley) Heider.

For many years, Joe was employed by several retailers and restaurants in the Carlisle area. He enjoyed playing video games, bowling, reading comic books, and watching movies. He especially loved Christmas.

In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by a step-son Richard Holley and a step-daughter Betty Hartman. Grandchildren Angela and Christopher Hartman also survive him. Brothers Tim (wife Jodi) Heider, of Dillsburg, and Donald Heider, of Carlisle, also survive him in addition to several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
