John W. Yohn, 84, of Carlisle, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born January 17, 1929 in Hummelstown, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Olive Brunner Yohn and the widower of Mary J. Zeigler Yohn, who passed August 28, 2011 after sixty-three years of marriage.
He retired from Souders Feed and Grain, New Kingstown and also worked for the Heishmans Truck Stop. He enjoyed woodworking, watching T.V., and smoking his pipe.
Surviving are four daughters, Judy A. Yohn of Carlisle, Betsy J. Herron (and husband, Tom) of Berwick, Mary J. Churlick (and husband, John) of Carlisle, and Juanita G. Zeigler of Newport; two brothers, Richard Yohn of Duncannon and Roy Yohn of Shermans Dale; two sisters, Grace Fenicle of New Kingstown and Virginia Gardner of New Bloomfield; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Yohn and his sister, Ruth Hartzel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Pastor Jan F. Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, on Friday at the funeral home.
