John R. Peters, 42 of Gardners PA, died Thursday August 15, 2013.
Born September 27, 1970, he was the son of John F. and Mary Reisinger Peters, Gardners.
John is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ellen, his daughter, Elizabeth Peters and his son, John C. Peters, a brother, Harry K. Peters and his wife Stacey, a sister, Mary M. P. Kuhn and her husband, Stephen. John was preceded in death by a daughter, Hope.
John was President of his families' orchard, Peters Orchard. He was a 1988 graduate of Bermudian Springs High School and a 1992 graduate of Richmond University. He was a member of the Celebration Community Church, Dillsburg. John was a member of PA Farm Bureau, Adams County Fruit Grower, National Cherry Council and the National Peach Council.
John loved the Lord, our God, and knew of His grace and mercy. John was a gentle, kind, sincere and loving man. He was a good man. He was a quiet, reserved friend who made a great listener. His smile was contagious and beautiful, a one of a kind. He was a doting father to Liz and John, always encouraging to them. He loved them dearly. His hugs were the most heartfelt hugs one could ever receive. He was the salt of the earth. John loved his wife more than anyone ever could, and she loved him more than a wife could ever love her husband.
He never stopped learning, growing, and stretching his interests, which included flying, reading, farming, PSU Football, travel, friends, and simply spending time with family. He loved to throw the baseball with his son. One of his favorite past-times was making up songs about his family members.
He cared for many. He was tender with the elderly, and respected them. In the end he was overcome with the despair of depression. His sweet soul will be surely missed. May our God in Heaven open wide his arms to receive our loving angel, John.
