John R. I. Miller

John Roland Ivan Miller 96 of Carlisle, PA, passed away on December 17, 2024, at Chapel Point. 

He was born April 16, 1928, in Indiana, PA., the son of the late Robert Ivan and Bertha Gaynell (Potts) Miller.

John graduated from Edmunds High School in Burlington Vermont on June 15, 1945, and joined the Navy. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Training Center Bainbridge, Maryland as S2 Radioman on September 14, 1946, serving in Guam and was honorably discharged as a S1Radioman in October 1947. Later civilian employment included years managing Western Union Offices, two years as Animation Director for Ken Anderson Christian Films, years with Radio Station WDBA, Dubois, PA., till retirement to Chapel Pointe, Carlisle in November 1999. In retirement after a lifetime of Art Study and adherence to Christianity, he produced three eBooks; 3 Optic Depth Perspectives for Artists, The Girls of Shiloh and The Evollutionary Fairy Tale.  

John was a loving and devoted husband to his surviving wife Olive I. (Benninger) Miller. He is also survived by his brother: Arman Q. Miller of Athens, Georgia. 

Services are entrusted to Hoffman Funeral Home 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Private interment will be in Beechwoods Cemetery Falls Creek, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Henry Chapel, Chapel Pointe 770 South Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
