John Levan Garman, 77, of Boiling Springs, died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born December 27, 1933 in Lutztown, he was a son of the late Benjamin F. and Pearl Anne Brehm Garman.
He was owner/operator of Garmanhaus Bed and Breakfast, Boiling Springs. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Boiling Springs, and a member of the Boiling Springs Civic Association. John was a South Middleton School District board member. He was an aid to hikers on the Appalachian Trail.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Marion M. Garman of Boiling Springs, two sons, John Levan Garman “Van” (and wife, Tracey) of Coppell, TX and Matthew S. Garman (and wife, Marisa) of Scituate, MA, five grandchildren, Cortney, Cameron, Caitlin, Benjamin, and Maria and one sister, Emma Jane Stoner of Dillsburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Garman and one sister, Mary Cook.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown, with military honors conducted by Cumberland County Honor Guard.
