John H. Brougher

John H. Brougher, age 84, of Carlisle, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017.
He was born February 23, 1933 in Cumberland County to the late Harry F. and Sarah E. (Callaman) Brougher.
John was a Carlisle farmer all his life. He retired as head of the maintenance department at the former MJ Mall after 13 years of service. John enjoyed old country music, including Roy Acuff and Hank Williams, driving in the country and attending tractor shows. He had formerly attended Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church.
He is survived by: his wife of 41 years, Pearl E. (Potteiger) Brougher; a son, Amos L. Brougher of Carlisle; five daughters, Euzane (husband Barry) Lehman of Newville, Sarah Ann (husband Frank) Heffner of Newville, Christine (husband Randy) May of Dillsburg, Elaine (husband Charles) Barnett of Carlisle and Wendy Janet (husband Kevin) Ramsey of Mt. Holly Springs; 12 grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by: his first wife, Janet A. (Potteiger) Brougher; a brother, Robert Brougher; three sisters, Theta Sollenberger, Faye Nailor and Pauline Brougher.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Dr. Gerald Greiner officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
