John F. “Jack” Schorsch, 87, of Carlisle and formerly of Maple Shade, NJ, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle. He was born June 10, 1932 in Philadelphia to the late James and Leah Schorsch.
Jack’s loyalty and love for his family and the Lord were unmatched. He dedicated his life to service and selflessness. Jack served his country honorably in the Korean War, and returned home to marry the love of his life, Ida. He raised a family in a loving home, and lived to see his legacy passed down through four generations.
Jack was an outdoorsman, farmer, gardener, and carpenter. He was a friend to many and a pillar of the community. All who knew him can rest assured Jack is in Heaven where he will continue serving the Lord.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ida J. Schorsch; two daughters, SaraJane Barto and JoAnn Schorsch; one son, John “Rusty” Schorsch; one daughter-in-law, Helen Schorsch; one son-in-law, William Barto; seven grandchildren including Jennette (husband Mike), Andrew (wife Isabelle), Audrey, Emily (husband Jacob); and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Faith Chapel, 1453 Holly Pike Carlisle, PA 17015 with Pastor Michael J. Mayer D.D. officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Chapel, 1453 Holly Pike Carlisle, PA 17015.
