John Edward Cohick, 94, of Carlisle, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born November 25, 1918 in Newville, he was a son of the late John and Florence Pieper Cohick and the widower of Kathleen Wentz Cohick.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer. John was a member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle. He was a member of the Boiling Springs Lions Club. John was a member of the board of the Boiling Springs Branch of the Cumberland County National Bank.
Surviving are two sons, James Cohick (and wife, Jane) of Newburg and Ronald Cohick (and wife, Nancy) of Hatfield; four grandchildren: James E. Cohick II (and wife, Kristal), Jenny Rebecca Shoap (and husband, Lee), Cassie Cohick, and Christy Cohick; grand-son-in-law, Kenneth Burkett; one brother, Stan Cohick of Shippensburg; and six great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jeanette Burkett and two brothers, William and Harry Cohick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Daniel R. Mikesell officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
