John E. Schmick

John E. Schmick, age 68, of Carlisle, passed away April 27, 2021 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle. Born December 28, 1952 in Carlisle, son of the late Larry and Mary K. (Kasper) Schmick.
John was a retired truck driver for Keen Transport, a member of the Moose and Eagles and loved fishing and hunting. Most of all, John was a big Carlisle sports fan and loved watching his grandchildren play.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lisa M. (Sheaffer) Schmick, Carlisle; sons, Daniel (Danyel) Schmick and Brian (Brandy) Schmick, both of Carlisle; grandchildren, Jordan Schmick, Brooklyn Schmick, Layton Schmick and Delaney Schmick and these siblings, Jim (Lucy) Schmick, Larry (Joanne) Schmick, Jane (Patrick) McCoy and Jean (Carson) Inch.
John was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Barder and sisters, Suzanne Kennedy and Mary Elizabeth Heckenluber.
Friends may gather with the family for a celebration of John’s life on Wednesday May 5, 2021 from 6 to 8PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the funeral home to offset expenses.
