John David Keeney Jr.

John David Keeney Jr., 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
He was born May 3, 1934 in Hanover, PA.
John retired from the US Navy as a CPO after 22 years of service as a Medical Corpsman. His service included one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. After he retired from the service, John worked as a furniture salesman in Las Vegas. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, yard sales, flea markets, crossword puzzles, spending time with his cat, people and most of all his family.
John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carol E. Keeney of Carlisle; four children, Robert A. (wife Mary) Keeney of New Cumberland, Alan E. Keeney of Carlisle, Eugene S. (wife Terri) Keeney of Carlisle and JoAnn K. Eichelberger of Carlisle; two step-children, Timothy C. (wife Cathy) Powell of Carlisle and Pamela D. Powell of Florida; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Cynthia L. Iozzo.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Arlington National Cemetery.
