John Barrick, Iii

John N. Barrick III, 57, of Marysville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.
He was born in Newville on September 16, 1957 to the late John N. II and Sadie Keefer Barrick.
John was a graduate of Big Spring High School and went on to HAAC to receive his AA in HVAC. He worked for 27 years at Lear Corp. as a maintenance engineer and also served as chief union steward. He started there in binding and worked his way up to mechanics and maintenance. He liked to hunt, was an NRA member and loved to reload his own shells. He was into archery and volunteered at the Perry County Youth Day showing archery techniques. John served in the United States Navy as a diesel mechanic. He was a foster parent to a number of children. He liked gardening and really was a farmer at heart. He liked to do woodworking and made many things for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kathy Campbell Barrick; sons, Michael Jason (and wife Jessica Katherine) Barrick of New Bloomfield, Jamie L. (and wife Misty) Barrick of Loysville and Kevin Lee Barrick of Marysville; grandchildren, Michael J. Barrick, Alyssa Barrick, Abbie Barrick, Destiny Gibson and Scilar Hanks; brother, Raymond (and Janet) Barrick of Newville; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Burial will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015 and also from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
