Jesse Harold Keen, 64, of Harrisburg, died May 4, 2012 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Born August 17, 1947 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Harold M. and Alberta Herr Keen.
He was a graduate of Carlisle High School. Jesse was President of Keen Leasing and recently retired as Vice President of Keen Transport Company and was owner of Keen Motorsports, car #17. He was also a driving force in the formation of the Clean Air Board of Central Pa. Jesse was on the board of directors for Ameri Quest; past chairman for the United Way Campaign; and served on the board of the United Way. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, a member of the Colonial Country Club and enjoyed Sprint car racing. He was a US Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Lorraine J. Keen of Harrisburg; one son, Shawn Timothy Keen (and wife, Brigid) of Newville; one daughter, Jennifer Keen Woodford of Enola; two grandsons, Kyle and Samuel; one brother, William Robert Keen of Carlisle; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Keen of Carlisle; One brother-in-law, Frank Yankle (and wife, Karen) of Canfield, OH; five nieces, Lindsey Ambrosia, Lorin Yankle, Landry Yankle, Kayla Lundy, and Amy Keen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at First United Presbyterian Church, 111 Big Spring Avenue, Newville with Pastor Vern Gauthier officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
