Jerry W. Ulmer

Jerry W. Ulmer, 79, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2019 at the Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia. Born on May 31, 1940 in Caruthersville, Missouri, he was the son of the late Clifford and Eloise (Green) Ulmer.

Jerry received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University in Chemical Engineering. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962 - 1969. Jerry retired from Kinney Shoes as the Vice President of Purchasing. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Jerry had an adventurous side and could often be found ziplining and riding roller coasters. He along with a special friend, Mary Shafer, enjoyed visiting wineries. He also enjoyed playing cards, boating, vacationing and exercising. Most of all, he loved spending time with his twin granddaughters.

He is survived by a son, Christopher Ulmer (fiancé Kathy) and twin granddaughters, Ashley and Devon Ulmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2010.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Monday, July 8, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Father Antony Raja as celebrant. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Patrick Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the Mass at the church.
