Jenny Louise Cairns-Denoto

June 5, 1974 — October 17, 2015

Our wonderful, shining light has been brought home by her Creator to bring more light to His Kingdom, joining her sister, Emily, and grandmother, Nana Schalles.
Jenny Louise Cairns-DeNoto, age 41, beloved daughter of Robert C. Cairns and Mary (Timi) Schalles Cairns, wife of Tony DeNoto and mother of Nicolas and Sofia DeNoto, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the M.S. Milton Hershey Medical Center due to complications of Myasthenia Gravis and metastatic Thymoma. Jenny battled these conditions courageously and passionately for quite some time and, in the end, they took her away from us.
Jenny is a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Class of 1992. In high school Jenny excelled in swimming, field hockey and music. Jenny then moved onto Hood College in Frederick, MD, where she received her BS in Education in 1996. After her schooling, Jenny put down roots in the field of Autism and special needs education. She then received her Masters of Science-Special Education from Johns Hopkins University in 2009. Her gifts and passions that she brings to the classroom are quickly recognized by colleagues and parents, and deeply felt by the children she works with. Jenny is admired by many as an innovator in special education, but ultimately it is her love and caring for these children that is most noticed. Jenny and Tony were married in the spring of 2006 and moved to central New York that fall. While in New York, Jenny taught at the Camden Central Schools and is loved and admired in that community. She also loves many people there. She began a baking business, J Cookies, bringing these special gifts to many. The relationships that she formed through this process are very dear to her heart. Jenny gave birth to Nicolas in 2009 and to Sofia in 2013. Her devotion to her children will be carried on through eternity and she will continue to help Tony guide them through their own trials and victories. Her presence and love was, is, and will always be felt. Jenny deeply touches and moves everyone that she comes in contact with and will continue to do so from above.
She is survived by her devoted mother and father; husband; loving children; sisters, Laura and Mark Brewer and Nancy and Troy Jackson; nephews, Andrew and Ben; niece, Elisabeth; mother and father-in-law, Karen and Bob DeNoto; and brother-in-law, Jason DeNoto.
Jenny did not wish for a viewing or interment, rather to be cremated.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at The Meeting House-Carlisle Campus (formerly Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church), 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle with Rev.
