Jeffrey Roger Danshaw, of Carlisle, passed away at his residence on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the age of 70. Born on March 13, 1954 in Washington, PA he was the son of the late William W. and Virginia Lee (Freed) Danshaw. He was the husband of Margaretta (Nead) Danshaw, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Immediately after graduating high school, Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps earning an honorable discharge after serving his country for six years. After attending and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, Jeff was employed in various positions before attending the Officer Candidate School (OCS) for naval aviation located at Naval Air Station Pensacola (FL). While based there, Jeff ultimately commanded small specialized groups in ordinance disposal and maintenance during his service with the Navy. He retired as a U.S. Naval Commander in 2001.
Later, Jeff worked at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Fort Belvoir, VA for 16 years, retiring in 2020. Jeff and his wife Margaretta moved to the Carlisle area that same year.
In addition to his wife, a brother Craig Danshaw, DO, of Fort Worth, TX and a sister Jacqueline Tucker, also of Texas, survive him. He is also survived by one niece and two nephews. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by a brother William.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
