Jean T. Lane, 84, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the UPMC Hospital, Carlisle.

She was born to Anthony & Genevieve Jackiewicz in Wilkes-Barre, PA and raised in Dundalk, MD alongside her beloved siblings Anthony and Diane.

Jean attended Bon Secours Nursing School in Baltimore, MD, embarking on a lifelong career in nursing. She began her vocation in the maternity ward at Bon Secours Hospital and went on to serve at various hospitals in College Park, MD. After moving to Carlisle, she focused on geriatric care, working at Forest Park and then Sarah Todd Home where she rose to the position of Director of Nursing and concluded her dedicated career at Church of God Memorial Home.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jean took immense pride in her family, truly embodying a “family first” motto. Her faith was an important part of her life, as she involved herself in St. Patrick Catholic Church and supported St. Patrick School for many years. Jean also played a big part in the La Leche League of Carlisle, reflecting her passion for nurturing and caring for others.

In her free time, she delighted in traveling the world and enjoyed every moment she spent with her husband of more than 62 years, Richard, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her devoted husband, Richard M. Lane; her children, Barbara & David Yeager, Paul & Denise Lane, Lisa Lane, Rebecca &Tony Hackett, and Anthony Sivillo; her grandchildren, Mary, Megan, & Michael Yeager, Noah & Ethan Lane, Anthony Sivillo, Samantha & Alexander Hackett; and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Anthony & Angie Jackiewicz and Richard & Diane Aull as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Sivillo.

Jean’s warmth, compassion and dedication touched the lives of countless individuals. She will be remembered for her profound love of family, unwavering faith, and passion for helping others. Her generous heart and nurturing spirit will forever remain in the memories of those who knew and loved her.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 31, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 87 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, with her viewing and family visitation is just prior at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to Saint Patrick School, 87 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015.
