Jay W. Mcbride Sr.

Jay W. McBride Sr., 91, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.
He was born September 19, 1927 in Carlisle to the late Miles O. and Laura V. (Lautsbaugh) McBride.
Jay graduated from the former Stevens Trade School in Lancaster. He honorably served his country in the US Navy during WWII. After returning from the service, Jay worked for AMP, Inc. for 38 years before he retired. He was a longtime member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle Lodge #260 and formerly served as North Middleton Township Supervisor.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Emma K. McBride of Carlisle; one son, Jay W. (wife Joan) McBride Jr. of Carlisle; one brother-in-law, Earl R. (wife Janet) Keller of Carlisle; and one sister-in-law, Minnie Knouse of Carlisle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Fred Luther McBride and one sister, Mary Ellen Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Wesleyan Church of the Cross, 430 B Street Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Daniel R. Mikesell officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Church of the Cross.
