Jason Lynn Sheaffer, 46, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4 at UPMC Carlisle, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 22, 1978 in Carlisle, he was the son of Faye (Roush) Sheaffer and Jeffery Sheaffer Sr.
Jason was a 1998 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School. He dedicated 18 years as an employee of Carlisle Regional Medical Center, later named UPMC Carlisle Hospital, as a food service worker.
Known for his playful sense of humor, Jason loved telling jokes and bringing laughter to those around him. He had a deep passion for car races, especially high-performance imported cars, and enjoyed visiting the Carlisle Fairgrounds for car shows. A devoted Steelers fan, he rarely missed a football game. He also loved playing video games, particularly with his nephew, Owen. More than anything, Jason treasured time with his family and friends, with family reunions holding a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, in 2020; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Edith Roush; paternal grandparents, Leroy and Lillian Sheaffer; his uncle, DeSales Smith; and his cousin, Brian Smith.
Jason is survived by his mother, Faye Sheaffer (Bill Beers Jr.) of Mechanicsburg; his father, Jeffery Sheaffer Sr. (Lou Anne) of Port Royal; his brother, Jeffery Sheaffer Jr. (Amanda) of Mechanicsburg; his sister, Tammy Kivler (Sean) of Harrisburg; and his beloved nephew and niece, Owen and Kaylynn Sheaffer. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him deeply.
Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
