Janet M. Seifried, 93, of Carlisle died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Pinnacle Health West Shore Campus, Mechanicsburg.
Born October 4, 1920 in Hillcrest, NY, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Marguerite Greisch Blauvelt and the widow of Dean B. Seifried.
Janet will be remembered as a very generous lady who enjoyed volunteering politically, for the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Shade Tree Committee, Historical Society and her church amongst many others. She enjoyed entertaining, sewing, gardening, cooking and was very well traveled.
Surviving are one son, Bruce Seifried of Williamsburg, MA; one daughter, Wendy Shumaker (and husband, Douglas) of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Sarah Bjorkman, Erica Miller, Mark Shumaker and Kai Geffen and one great-grandson, Kyle Bjorkman. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Judy Strayer officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
