Janet A. Carter, 75, a resident of Claremont Nursing and Rehab Center, Carlisle, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 in the Center with her family by her side
Born December 14, 1939 in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Abram and Elsie Ellen King Putt and the widow of the late Larry E. Carter
Janet was a graduate of Carlisle Area High School. She was a maintenance Supervisor at Dickinson College and formerly of University of Florida at Gainesville. She formerly attended the Salvation Army, Carlisle. Janet enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, yard sales, crocheting, puzzle, cooking and baking. But most of all, she enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Tina M. Carter-Smith and husband John, Palatka, FL and Yvette M. Miller and husband Daniel, Carlisle and a sister, Elsie Price, Mechanicsburg, four grandsons, Christopher, Terry, David and Kyle and a great-granddaughter, Kera. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry E. Carter, a grandson, Justin R. Gouse and many brothers and sisters from a family of thirteen.
Upon Janet's final request, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
