James R. Luttrell, 71, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Harrisburg on September 24, 1943 to the late Norman Leroy and Lera Harbine Luttrell and was the widower of Linda Hippensteel Luttrell.
Jim was an auto mechanic for 30 years at Brenner Motors on Paxton Street in Harrisburg. He was quite the car enthusiast and loved going to car shows. Jim was a member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross of Carlisle. He was a true Christian and was vigilant in doing his devotions daily.
He is survived by daughters, Lisa J. (and husband Steven) Turner of Carlisle and Carla Jean (and husband Edward, Sr.) Smith of Glen Rock; sons, Brian N. Luttrell of Carlisle and James R. Luttrell, Jr. of Mountville, PA; grandsons, Edward A. Smith and Matthew E. Smith, both of Glen Rock; and sisters, Janet DeHart of Palmyra, Diana Smith of Shippensburg, Georgia Wentworth of Florida and Darlene Fisher of Newville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances A. Richwine.
Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family with Pastor Daniel R. Mikesell officiating.
