James L. "Jim" Martin

James L. "Jim" Martin, age 61, of Carlisle and formerly of Peckville, PA, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016.
He was born on August 5, 1954 in San Antonio, TX to Leslie Reno and Gretchen Marie Searfoss Martin of Peckville, PA.
Jim worked at the Gettysburg National Military Park as a licensed guide and was formerly a lobbyist for the Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children.
He is survived by two sons, Benjamin Martin of Astoria, NY and Daniel Martin of Arlington, VA; a brother, Keith Martin of Scranton; and Jim's former wife, Joan Newhouse of Landisburg.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Donna Hughes officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Gettysburg Foundation, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
