James E. Lindsay, 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his residence.
He was born January 7, 1937 in Newville to the late Herbert J. and Marie B. (Hardy) Lindsay.
Jim was a loving father and a wonderful husband. He loved hunting, playing cards and he attended West Hill Church, Carlisle. James retired from Clouse Trucking after working for over thirty years as a mechanic.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Louise E. Lindsay of Carlisle; three children, Christine (husband Blair) Harry of Carlisle, Mark Lindsay (husband Oscar Pamplona) of Delray Beach, FL, and Jason (wife Carol) Lindsay of Lake Wylie, SC; two grandsons, Tyler (wife Amanda) Harry of Newville and Dalton Harry (fiancé Brandi Coldsmith) of Carlisle; one brother Herbert “John” (wife Kathryn) Lindsay Jr. of Shippensburg; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Rebel. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry “Donald” and Fred Lindsay; and two sisters, Dorothy Bush and Betty “Jeanie” Keeseman Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Barbara Dickens Albert officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
