James Clouser, of Newville, passed away at his home while surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 12 at the age of 72. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Florence Clouser and Raymond Dudley. He was the loving husband of Wendy M. (Beam) Clouser with whom he celebrated 49 years of marriage in March.
A graduate of West Perry High School, Jim worked as a brakeman and forklift operator for nine years at Harrisburg Steel. He then worked for 25 years for the former C.H. Masland and Sons Rugs & Carpets, in Carlisle until his retirement at age 62.
Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carlisle Ward. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. Those who knew Jim appreciated his strong work ethic, dependability, and kind heart.
Surviving with Jim’s wife Wendy are daughters Jennifer Grose (husband Larry), of Duncannon and Samantha Barnhill (husband Josh) of New Bloomfield. He is also survived by two sisters, Betty Fry and Peg Sweger, both of Newport, PA. Three grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by two brothers, Ron Clouser and Bill Tittler.
Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
