Irvin B. Wickard, age 75, of New Cumberland, PA passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Arden Courts of Susquehanna in Harrisburg. He was born December 28, 1946, in Carlisle, PA to the late John I. and Ruth M. (Watson) Wickard.
Irvin owned and operated his own trucking company and was previously employed as a machinist with the former PR Hoffman Tech Design Company. He was an avid softball player and was also a softball umpire for 18 years as well as a PIAA Wrestling Official for 18 years and a devoted Penn State Wrestling fan and season ticket holder. Irvin enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles, attending motorcycle rallies, and loved driving his yellow 2000 corvette.
Irvin is survived by his children Curtis L. Wickard of Carlisle, PA, Timothy L. Wickard of Carlisle, PA, Brandi Lee Wickard Gesell and her husband Ryan of Mechanicsburg, PA and John I. Wickard of Mechanicsburg, PA; grandchildren Andrew, Travis, Kaitlyn, Makayla, Emily and Cameron and sisters Wendy Shelley and her husband James of TN and Lucy Mullins of TN. Irvin is also survived by his former spouse Sharon L. Wickard and companion Donna M. Mountz. In addition to his parents, Irvin was preceded in death by his brother Randy Wickard.
A graveside service will be held at 12:45PM on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery 1271 Longs Gap Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013. Viewing will be held prior to the graveside service from 10:30AM – 12:00PM on Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, 16th FL, New York, NY 10001.
