Hoyt D. Carns, 85, 0f Carlisle, died Friday, January 17, 2025 at UPMC West Shore.

Born in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Elwood and Katherine (Coulson) Carns and husband of the late Beatrice Carns, who passed in 2024.

Hoyt previously worked at Smith’s Appliances and as a realtor but spent most of his life self employed as a TV repairman and electrician.

He enjoyed woodworking and playing golf and was a member of Carlisle VFW Post #477 and Carlisle Moose Lodge.

Hoyt is survived by his daughters: Carrie Lyn Wallace, Machell Farner (James), several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his brother: John Carns (Brenda). He was preceded in death by his brother: Robert Carns and his sons: Mark A. Carns and Martin B. Carns.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2025 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where Pastor Dick Reese will be officiating. The family will greet guests at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place in Cumberland Valley Memorial Garden, Carlisle.
