Howard L. "Billy" Schlusser, age 74, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Manor Care Health Care Services-Carlisle.
He was born May 25, 1942 in Carlisle to the late Donald and Hazel (Mountz) Schlusser.
Billy was a graduate of Big Spring High School where he was a record holder in wrestling. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. Billy was the owner/operator of Charlotte's Place for 22 years. He bowled in several area leagues and was well known in pool leagues in Cumberland and Perry County where he was a Captain. He drove truck for his son, Billy Jr.'s company, North Mountain Paving. Billy was a member and past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #1299 of Carlisle, was a member of the White Circle Club, VFW Post #477, the American Legion Post #101, AMVETS Post #274, the Elks Lodge #578, Moose Lodge #761, the Mechanicsburg Club, the Mosquito Creek Sportsman Club and the Plainfield Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Myers) Schlusser of Carlisle; a son, Howard L. (and wife Jo) Schlusser of Newville; two granddaughters, Brittany and Courtney; sisters, Arlene, Madella, Shirley, Bonnie and Donna; and three brothers, George, John and Jerry. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Terry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Kristine Heckard officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
