Helen May Liszman, 86, of Carlisle died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at her daughter's home.
Born October 28, 1927 in Perry County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Marie Baker and the widow of Robert Raymond Liszman, to whom she was married for fifty-four years.
She was formerly employed as a receptionist by Dr. William P. Stull, Dr. Halliday and Dr. Smith. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle for sixty plus years, where she taught Sunday school. She was part of the Lauralette Class and helped in many other ways.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda "Lynn" Roche (and husband, George) of Elliottsburg; two sisters, Betty Shearer of Mechanicsburg and Freda Wareham of Harrisburg; three grandchildren: Adam Foltz of Carlisle, Jaclyn Foltz of Pittsburgh, and Jessica Foltz of Port Royal. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Chester, Carl and Franklin Baker, and one step-sister, Elsie Sheaffer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 East High Street, Carlisle with Rev. Lisa M. Leber officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2104 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
