Helen Mae Chestnut (Blosser) passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Green Ridge Village in Newville.

Helen was born December 6, 1929 in Carlisle, the eldest of three children, to Harry A. and Pearl (Derr) Blosser.

After graduating in 1947 from Carlisle High School, Helen wed Carl G. Chestnut, the love of her life, in August 1947. She was a member of the Newburg Church of God. She was employed at Reeves Hoffman and retired from Carlisle Container in 1994.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Lois A. Chestnut; sons, Robert E., Steven L, and Roger A. Chestnut; and three grandchildren, Travis, Kara and Kaitlyn of Shippensburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen is preceded in death by sisters Catherine E. Westhaver and Betty J. Stough.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Newville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 PM until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s honor to Newburg Church of God.
