Helen M. Shellehamer

Helen M. Shellehamer, age 96, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Cumberland Crossings.
She was born March 8, 1921 in Boiling Springs to the late Gordon and Myrtle (Baker) Whitcomb and was the widow of Earl D. Shellehamer.
Helen was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and later the Carlisle Commercial College. She retired after serving many years from the Federal Government. She was a member of Carlisle First Church of God, a 50-year member of Old Bellaire Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #375, member of WCSC, AARP, YMCA, the Salvation Army and a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathryn E. Whitcomb and Esther W. Brymesser.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle with Rev. Michael Poe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle First Church of God, 705 Glendale Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
