Helen Lenore Dum

Helen Lenore Dum, age 95, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at her residence.
She was born April 4, 1921 in South Middleton Township to the late G. Roy and Lettie Violet (Holler) Woods and was the widow of R. Dale Dum who passed June 24, 2000.
Helen and her husband loved camping and started the Good Sam-Cumberland Valley Travelers Camping Club, Chapter 19. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and AARP and loved to play cards. Helen was a longtime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle, where she was part of the Peanut Butter Egg Ministry, the Senior Saints and the Katherine Von Bora Class.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana Jane (and husband Dennis) Shughart of Carlisle; sister, Esther Goodyear of Carlisle; two granddaughters, Debbie Lee Kleider of New Kensington and Dana Ann Shughart-Gelinas of Newville; five great-grandchildren, Nathanial Delk, Jean-Luc Zane Gelinas, Jeremy Ryan Delk, Natasha Shughart Gelinas and Abigail Delk; and a great-great-grandson, Ryan Delk. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman and Paul Woods and a sister, Romaine Ilgenfritz.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Paul Evangelical Church, 201 W. Louther Street, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Jean Kuebler officiating. There will be a visitation to follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Construction Renovation Fund, 201 W. Louther Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
