Helen L. (Fenton) Neidig, age 93 of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at VibraLife Rehabilitation Center in Mechanicsburg.
She was born July 21, 1925 in Mt. Holly Springs, PA to the late Floyd and Minerva Fenton. She was married to the late Roy Neidig, husband of 65 years. Helen was an independent and fearless woman and her family will remember her as “part of the greatest generation”.
Helen retired from the Book-of-the-Month Club. She also held several officer positions in the TOPS Club.
She enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, fishing and camping with her husband and family, and was a fabulous musician. She used her musical talents to play the banjo in Bluegrass JAM Sessions at Franklintown Fire Hall.
Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister and friend.
Helen is survived by her sons; Leslie and wife Pam, Leonard and wife Pam, Lynwood, Larry, and Loren and wife Brenda; eight grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy; brothers, Frank and Joseph Fenton; and sisters, Mary Jane Emlet and Jean Shirey.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA. A viewing will be held from 10:30 am until the beginning of the service. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
