Harry R. Williams, Sr.

Harry R. Williams, Sr., 89, of Carlisle, died Friday, September 22, 2023, at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.

Born in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Laughman) Williams.

Harry enjoyed horseshoes, hunting, fishing and square dancing. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299, Carlisle and the Shippensburg American Legion Post 223. He was also an active member of the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include his daughters: Mary Alleman, her husband, Donald, Theresa Reasner, his son: Harry Williams, II, his wife, Marylou, all of Shippensburg, nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren, his sisters: Dottie Orris and Rosemary Eurich, her husband, Jim, all of Carlisle and his brother: Donn Williams, his wife, Bonnie, of South Carolina, his sisters-in-law: Joyce Williams and Jean Williams as well as his lifelong companion, M. Emily Rowe.

Harry was preceded in death by his son: William Scott Williams, his granddaughter: Nancylou Williams and three brothers: Jon, Ed and Richard.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewings, Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM and again Monday, October 2, 2023 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle. His funeral service will be Monday, October 2, at 12 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the funeral service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
