Harry E. Donson

Harry E. Donson, 89, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born July 20, 1922 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Paul M. and Helen M. DeLong Donson and the widower of Genevieve D. Derr Donson.
He was a building contractor and also owned and operated Donson Coin Shop, Carlisle. He was a frequent flea market vendor at Silver Spring Flea Market for 22 years. Harry was a WWII veteran and the recipient of two Purple hearts. He was a member of the Elks BPO Lodge #578, St. John’s Masonic Lodge, VFW Post #477, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1299, and Ancient Scottish Rite, all of Carlisle.
Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Lou Dewalt of Lancaster and Barbara Hoffman of Carlisle and one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Hoffman of Enola, one great-grandson, Beckett Zydorczyk of Enola, one son-in-law, Philip Hoffman of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jon Justin Dewalt and sister, Marjorie E. Donson.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Westminster Cemetery, 1159 Newville Road, Carlisle with full military honors conducted by Cumberland County Honor Guard. Rev. Charles A. Brophy will be officiating.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
